To order an MSDS from IHS:Note: This feature is available only to administrators.
When a product MSDS is needed but cannot be found in IHS Dolphin Online or other external MSDS collections, consider ordering the MSDS through IHS, who will attempt to acquire it directly from its manufacturer. While the MSDS is on order, it appears in the list of all MSDSs currently on order from IHS. If the MSDS can be acquired, IHS will deliver it to your system in a future data update.
While ordering the MSDS, you can add its product as a "temporary listing" to your product list—enabling you to search, view, and edit it like any other product—but this product has no MSDS file until the MSDS is acquired and delivered by IHS.
To order an MSDS from IHS:
Starting at the Order an MSDS from IHS page
Enter the Common Name and Manufacturer of the product whose MSDS you want to order. (If you are ordering an MSDS from your queue of product requests, these fields are already filled in; see Evaluating Product Requests for details.)
To request an MSDS of a specific revision date, enter that date in the field provided.
To add a product to your product list for the MSDS you are ordering, select the Create a temporary listing in your database for this product check box. (If you do not select this option, the product will be added to your product list only when its MSDS is delivered.)
Click Save in the lower right.
Your order is sent to IHS and added to the list of MSDSs currently on order from IHS. When/if the MSDS can be acquired, it will be delivered to your database. If you selected to Create a temporary listing in your database for this product, a product with no MSDS is added to your product list.
